GridOptic derives and transforms data published by GB distribution network operators and by the National Energy System Operator. The tables below name each publisher, link to its portal, and state the licence status as recorded in this repository. Where the licence is not yet confirmed, we say so plainly.
Each DNO publishes its own open data portal. GridOptic imports substation data, headroom, flexibility tenders and dispatches, connection registers, network development plans and related datasets.

NESO uses its own open data licence, which is based on the Open Government Licence v3 with amendments specific to NESO.
GridOptic normalises, cross-references and scores the source data to produce derived figures such as the GO-LFI benchmark, opportunity rankings, revenue bands and confidence ratings. Those derived outputs are GridOptic’s own work and do not imply that the source publishers endorse them. Every source record remains subject to the publisher’s own terms and may be updated, withdrawn or relicensed at any time.
